Woven by the generational master artisans of the Salvi family over six intensive months, this heirloom saree features the celebrated 'Narikunjar' motif — an auspicious assemblage of elephants (prosperity), parrots (passion), and dancing dolls (celebration) enclosed within geometric trellis panels. Both warp and weft threads are individually tie-dyed with natural madder and vegetable extracts before mounting on the traditional slanted pit loom. Because of the double ikat technique, the motif is woven with mathematical precision and appears 100% identical on both faces of the pure mulberry silk fabric.
Dry clean only by a luxury silk specialist. Store folded flat, wrapped in unbleached pure muslin cloth away from direct sunlight, moisture and naphthalene. Refold along different creases twice a year to preserve silk fiber integrity.
